Show Elected officials neglect public Dear Editor For the better part of my adult life Ive I've felt there needs to be social injustices perpetuating perpetuating perpetuating per per- our society by those we elect Although these injustices are seemingly apparent most of us fail to respond to the need for ac ac- ac- ac tion It seems that many elected officials after being granted some power by the populace gradually evolve toward neglecting the circumstances circumstances circumstances cir cir- cir cir- or people that initially initially initially in in- granted them that power Instead these elected officials relentlessly pursue more power ver no matter whose rights or freedoms they infringe infringe infringe inge upon By doing so they alienate themselves from the pulse of the community they're intended intended intended in in- tended to serve Undoubtedly Undoubted Undoubted- ly they become serving self-serving and proceed to disperse injustice injustice injustice tice to whomever they feel is blocking their path We as citizens have the moral responsibility to monitor the making decision-making activities which influence our daily life Strict monitoring is conducive to keeping politicians honest Politicians can and must be restrained when their actions actions ac ac- ac or decisions reflect total disregard to the wishes of the electorate Lets Let's turn this around Dont Don't make the electorate the forgotten ones in our com com- Dont Don't by inaction encourage the unrestrained actions of politicians Only when a concentrated effort is geared toward active participation participation par par- of all of society's members will we all be dealt dealta a fair hand Singed Brent Edmund |
