C CARE A A Free Educational Program Cottonwood Hospitals Hospital's Emergency Center has organized a free educational educational educational program called CARE Cancel Alcohol Rela Related ted Emergencies The program is designed to inform teenage drivers of the devastating effects of drinking and driving The CARE presentation includes s a slide show depicting actual victims at the scene of their alcohol related accidents their pre-hospital pre care and their term long-term rehabilitation Emergency Center nurses from Cottonwood Hospital will visit schools and other church and civic groups free of charge to give the presentation In addition to the slide presentation various handouts are distributed and a discussion concerning drinking and driving included Of the persons who die each year in alcohol related accidents more than are teenagers says DeAnn director of the Cottonwood Hospital Emergency Center Our purpose in bringing this program to Utah is to let teenagers know the consequences of drinking and driving The original chapter of CARE was initiated in 1982 by three emergency room nurses in Boston Since its beginning the program has been delivered to more more than students For more information and to arrange for the program contact Cottonwood Hospitals Hospital's Emergency Department at |
