Show J Dinner Held At t 7 Honor Society Meeting 0 Biological L F 5 w L s t i Jeanie Griddle Dr William Tanner Pa Pall t Crockett Carol Crokett t. t o by Ed Lile Associate Editor 1 x In the first part of 1984 the Biological Honor Society became an official club ti on on the campus of It has been a rather quiet organization not many have heard of it but it has r students unless affiliated with the Life Sciences been active r- r Recently they held a dinner in the Presidents President's Room for the members Life Science faculty and the Coordinator Dr Jim Hampton Society President Jeanette R. R Griddle Criddle stated that the purpose of the dinner was to vote on Society measures and changes in the Constitution and Laws By-Laws as well as to meet in a sociable atmosphere Both Criddle Griddle and Dr Hampton reiterated the goals of the Society emphasizing the requirements for new membership Criddle Griddle stated that the Society's purpose is to promote scholarships and to honor the students of the Life Sciences studies We want to help maintain friendships developed in college and to promote wholesome relationships between members and the El j j j r 3 tit HM t I IrTA Y 4 d r r i 1 d' d y yA y 2 o j f I i r k z A w Jeanette Jeanie R. R Criddle Mrs Dr James Hampton Dr William Tanner advisors tot lc to the BH Thank you gifts were presented to them from the society 1 lT- lT faculty coordinators said Dr Hampton Our basic doctrine is to foster interest in the Biological and Life Sciences Ballots were passed among the attending Society attending Society members and the voting went as follows The fish was voted as the Society mascot the colors were voted as maroon and white the voting accepted the logo designed by Dr r William Tanner of the Life Science faculty all proposed changes to the ByLaws ByLa ByLaws By- By La Laws ws were accepted r l Jeanette Criddle was sustained as President and she accepted the i f temporary position of secretary due to the illness of Sue Green 1 i Awards and recognitions were given to those of the Society who have ff served Members were encouraged to seek out potential membership to the Society any student in the Life Science classes is eligible to join Dr Hampton said that the requirements are to have completed ten credit hours of Life Sciences excluding Personal Health Candidates must have a GP A of 35 and anda a 35 in the Life Science classes |
