S Report Goes To Regents by Michelle G The second annual report f for r the Associate of Science degree AS was prepared and given to the Utah State Board of Regents and to the Utah State Board of Education on Oct 31 The report consisted of material gathered over a one year period Max Lowe Vice President for Instruction Jerry Fullmer Director of Planning and Resources Ann Erickson Dean of the School of Technology and General Education and Pam Gardner chair for the Division of General Education and others have helped in making the report Data from the report is centered on student purposes for attending up follow-up data on non-continuing non students and student satisfaction with the education they received Representatives of the State Board of Vocational Education complimented F I on their up follow-up program saying it is one of the best in Utah Information from the up follow-up study showed that a third of the graduating students came to improve job skills skills a third to get a new job and the last third to transfer to another institution The study shows that 86 to 95 percent of those students who transfer to other schools experience no problem in their credits also The study showed that 42 percent of non- non returning students went to other institutions and approximately 94 percent of those returning non-returning students are either employed now not seeking employment or are in time full-time military service Of the employers who responded to the up follow-up study 64 percent found that graduates were better prepared than others in their employ Only 6 percent of th the students involved in the study were disappointed with their education |
