Show f. f E j f. f I 7 i Y A t tate t o n to st J J was Vas the scene of the PICA VICA VIC A state contest by Daniel We Weir r Journalism won 36 awards in the state competition of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America VICA that was held on campus April Aprill 11 1112 12 Both high school and secondary post-secondary students competed in in the two-day two event was represented in the competition by 60 students Competition ranged from extemporaneous speaking to brick at Provo won won 23 awards with winning 7 Other schools were BYU with 5 awards with Snow College with 2 Students began preparing early in the year for local competition The winners from local contests advanced to the state competition The first place winners in the state competition will now advance to the nationals which will be held in Louisville Kentucky June 26 Winners from in prepared speech were Nancy Crossen first and Gilbert Martinez second Practical nursing Sharon Keg first Cynthia second and Jeanne third Also Sean McGarvey won first place in air conditioning and refrigeration Other winners from were Reggie Harris who took third in architectural architectural architectural tural drafting Anthus Barlow took first Barry J.
