Show Food Service Where Al Richardson Puts It All Together ii f r i 4 Al Richardson has come a long way to be one at the top of his class in the area of food service He became interested interested interested in in- in food service while working working working work work- ing at his dads dad's restaurant He continued to increase his love in inthis inthis inthis this area in the Navy as a 3rd class cook As the war came to a close he sent out several resumes to different businesses looking for employment Richardson has been affiliated with several types of food institutions Among them are such colorful places as Alcatraz Prison Folsom State Prison and the University of Portland Portland Portland Port Port- land He has most recently completed 25 years as Food Service Director at Utah State Prison He mentioned the e prisons are arean an an ideal job you can always know of permanent work FOR AL RICHARDSON COOKING IS HIS WAY OF LIFE AN ARTISTRY A THING OF BEAUTY IT IS AN EXPRESSION OF PRIDE HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES BEST Recently Richardson ichardson has completed a book entitled Simplified Food Cost Control Manual Manua Using his manual for the last two years he has taken Utah Tech out of a deficit to a c surplus 7 He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors and received International Food Service Silver Plate Award in 1980 5 He is a consultant for the Salvation Army which serves up to 5 million meals daily He added that he enjoys se serving ving meals to the students Suggestions Suggestions Suggestions Sug Sug- to students interested in this field are to pursue jobs at small fast food chains chains- to learn and move on to larger companies J 4 |
