Show t oo 00 BLAN BLANDING DING 00 PALMER FAMILY HAS thanksgiving REUNION sixty five ol of the 80 descendants of mrs rebecca palmer enjoyed a thanksgiving dinner and reunion at the home of a daughter mrs lucille wright thursday afternoon atler noon ten of her 11 living children were there mr and mrs lawrence palmer and boys came from orem and mr and mrs glen glan skinner from their trading post in new mexico the other children either live in blanding or close around BLANDING WARD RELIEF SOCIETY HAS successful BAZAAR A large crowd of interested townspeople attended at te n d e d the blanding ward relief society bazaar monday evening at the recreation hall the excitement began at 5 p m when everything went on sale there were articles as cheap as a penny for children to buy and articles of of every price for the adults the beautiful doll clothes one of the main attractions sold like wild fire and there half enough to go around the country store boasted everything from a potbellied pot bellied stove to an old horse blanket they sold flour candy popcorn balls pies cakes bottled jelly relish pickles honey and dozens 0 of other useful things all during the evening lunches were served they consisted of chili beans chicken noodle soup turkey sandwiches and pie and cake alamonde alamode alamo dc practically everything sold and the women in charge were very grateful for the success of the occasion REBECCA PALMER WORKS OVERTIME FOR INDIAN CHURCH mrs rebecca palmer made a trip rip to durango the first part of the week to get drapes for the new indian church ever since work on the building started she has been making quilts clothes and other articles and selling them to get a fund for the drapes twelve quilts aprons and many other articles have been made to increase the fund GRAYSON WARD SUSTAINS NEW WARD CLERKS at sacrament meeting sunday evening lyle johnson was sustained as the new ward clerk in the grayson ward harvey john kartchner is the new f finance in clerk other jion ion EDSON BLACK HONORED ON BIRTHDAY the sons and daughter and family of edson black honored him on his birthday at a dinner at the home of bernard on saturday his seven children and the older grand children were in attendance arthur and laveda adair came down from for the ac casion PALETTE CLUB entertains HUSBANDS the palette club women entertained their husbands saturday evening at the keith jones home bome they played bingo and everybody ivery very body got a prize delicious refreshments were served by bost hostesses esses merlin jenes bernece perkins allie nielson and froncell francell mrs ruth sloane palmer and her three children enjoyed the thanksgiving holiday at provo with several of her sisters margaret taylor her daughters hansine and teresa and miss margaret bayles went to california for a few days they spent the holiday weekend with their brother platte de and family when they went to get their mother who has visited at her sons home for the past six or eight weeks I 1 miss carmen black came home for thanksgiving with her parents mr and mrs zenos L black she is teaching the second grade in the vicinity of brigham city utah audrey halliday and helen bayles took their children to grand junction for medical attention saturday doris adams accompanied them and they all took the opportunity to do a little shopping mr and mrs fred S lyman and their son clisbee spent a day dar or two at the manti temple last week most of the college students came home for thanksgiving they were stephen perkins bruce Shurn shumway way peter redd margie rogers baine black kay Shurn shumway way mary jane and kareen brown mr and mrs leland W redd are enjoying a visit from their daughter shirley hurst and family mr and mrs darwin jones ones and family came from grand junction to spend the past week end with their parents mr and mrs marvin jones and mrs minnie johnson they attended a thanksgiving dinner at the jones home on thanksgiving day mr and mrs lynn lyman and daughter libbie made a hurried business trip to salt lake the first of the week they were accompanied as far as provo by joseph 13 harris who will stay at the home of his daughter mrs mary olson and do some carpenter work for her mr and mrs kay jones and family came from pagosa springs colo last week to join calvin and richard perkins and their families to go to provo to enjoy thanksgiving dinner with their mother mrs kisten perkins she is living there while her son james attends the brigham young 0 mr and mrs cardon ja james mes and their family came from mack colo for the thanksgiving holiday they spent several days with their parents mr and mrs will guymon and mr and mrs thomas jones mr and mrs ed keele are very happy over the arival of a baby boy at the san juan county hospital last tuesday morning they have a baby daughter and two older boys the alma jones family is sporting a brand new chevrolet this week mr and mrs horace lundberg visited in blanding wn with relatives saturday mrs lundberg will be remembered as the former nedra nedia hurst they were on their way to salt lake after spending thanksgiving V with the reed bayles family in in cortez they have recently moved to salt lake where mr lundberg is teach teaching inglat I 1 at the university of utah mark bayles the oldest son of reed and dora bayles of cortez is going to the east high school in salt lake and living at the home of mr and mrs horace lundberg he spent thanksgiving at home miss denise steel came from provo to accompany the marvin lyman family to albuquerque last week when they went to take francis on his way to his new station at camp chaffee ark they spent the evening of thanksgiving day driving around albuquerque country and enjoying the beauty of the christmas decorations in the that city francis boarded the bus at 11 p m and the family and miss steele sicele returned to blandin friday miss lorraine jones came home from provo to spend thanksgiving with her parents mr and mrs alma jones lewis burnham brought his friend miss gayle wayman from provo to spend thanksgiving in blanding they returned to provo sunday dale lyman left blanding tuesday to take a truck to kansas for preston redd david root drove home from school to spend the weekend with his parents dr and mrs root she accompanied him when he went back to school owen burnham is slowly recovering from injuries he received during the pheasant hunt in the northern part of the state about three weeks ago he was shot in tho the face and arms amis with buck shot the reaction to the shots given was almost more severe than the injury he is ia home from the hospital at present but is experiencing a great deal of pain from muscle spasm ethel thompson margaret jones susan butt and lynda and libbie lyman drove to grand junction friday to do christmas shopping mr and mrs mike alike camber lang and family moved to monticello last week both of them are employed over there and it will be much more convenient for them mrs dorothy wing and her family will move into the home A group of quil enjoyed monday afternoon at the home of 0 mrs mary laws mr and mrs melvin hurst have gone to mississippi to visit with mrs busts family mrs jennie ennic peterson and do dorothy r wing made a trip to cortez monday they attended to matters of business mr anthon black made a business siness trip to kayenta kayetta last week he delivered a load of flour to shonto clyde hunt and lamat lamar wright took tile the hunt truck on its weekly trip to salt lake city this week mr and mrs mrs parley hurst spent thanksgiving in salt lake city with mrs bursts mother mrs isabelle dennison mr and mrs justin black have enjoyed a short visit from mr and mrs jack eilers the past week mrs eilers is the former marilyn black when emily redd returned to blanding after spending thanksgiving with her parents mr and mrs jim washburn at draper she brought them home with her to spend a couple of weeks they adult shop class held at the elementary school each monday night is a busy place high school instructors walter is the supervisor eleven women and one boy are enrolled the school has been running runn ing since the second ot of november such articles as book cases whatnot shelves toy chests s to toy barns boxes of blocks doll houses and bunk beds are arc being turned out by the interested I 1
