Show recipe column by ann potter porter everyone likes whole wheat bread served with beans or a good bowl of hot vegetable soup here is a recipe using all whole wheat flour and needs no kneading with your YOU r hands I 1 got this recipe from mrs boyd rucker and she also gave me the recipe tor for a delicious coffee cake WHOLE WHEAT BREAD 3 cups whole wheat flour 1 tsp asp f lour flour 1 cups warm milk 1 cake yeast 2 abs tbs 1 l bs molasses 2 t abs tbs bs shortening add all ingredients and stir until very sticky let rise until double in size end and stir down put in pan well greased and let rise about 30 minutes bake at degrees tor for 35 minutes makes 2 loaves this recipe comes from mrs boyd rucker try it one of these cold mornings and serve piping hot with lots ot of butter lor breakfast COFFEE coffeecake CARE 2 cups flour 4 up baking powder 3 tsp asp salt 1 tsp asp cinnamon 1 va cups brown sugar 4 tbs abs shortening I 1 egg 3 cup milk sift flour salt cinnamon in in large mixing bowl add brown sugar and mix well cut in shortening save vi cup of this mixture for top of cake add to remainder of mixture baking powder bowder well beaten egg and milk fold in spread mixture in grea greased ed pan and sprinkle top wi with th ds dry ry mixture bake at degrees for 20 minutes |
