| Show prospector dies of pneumonia elbert morton chandler 72 year old prospector who has made san juan county his home since 1939 died october 7 1951 in the san juan county hospital mr chandler had been ill many times with a heart ail ment and in addition he w was as suffering with born chial pneumonia when brought to the hosp ital four days before he passed away chandler was born at crowley kansas and had spent most of his life as a farmer however he told friends he had always had a desire to spend his life in the open country hunting for precious minerals and after his family was raised he left his home and has lived alone and most of the time on the desert he was a typical western pros and seeing him one would never have guessed that he was the father of twelve children tout but would have thought that he had lived his entire life on the desert in solitude he was as a graniu uranium in prospector in one of the leading national magazines about a year ago 0 two of his sons william T and elbert came to Mont monticello icelic from roosevelt utah to claim the body which was taken to roosevelt for burial he is survived by all twelve children |
