| Show proclamation whereas during the past year the humanitarian activities of the american red cross contributed vitally to the nations welfare and whereas more than disaster sufferers received red cross aid hundreds of veterans turned to their red cross chapters each day for advice and counsel and services to hospitalized veterans were expanded and whereas red cross field and hospital workers p performed er essential services for our troops at home and abroad and prepared to meet the needs of the increasing numbers in our armed forces free training courses in home nursing first aid water safety and nutrition helped to improve our standards of public health and whereas there must be no curtailment of these essential services in the year ahead to carry on its splendid work the red cross will seek a minimum of in the 1949 fund campaign NOW THEREFORE 1 I J bracken lee governor of the state of utah do hereby order that the period begin beginning nin 0 march 1 1949 be observed as the 1949 american national red cross campaign and I 1 further call upon the people of utah to maintain their notable record of support in the coming appeal I 1 for funds IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF I 1 have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the great seal of the state of utah done atthe atthe capitol pitol salt lake city utah this ath day of february 1949 signed J BRACKEN LEE governor |
