Show 1949 game kill in order to determine the extent of big C game upland game birds and waterfowl during the 1949 hunting seasons the fish and game department is mailing questionnaires to hunters selected at random throughout the state the questionnaires are on return addressed postcards for which no postage is required A few simple questions are asked which can be answered with a ch eckmark a word or a short phrase the information obtained from the questionnaire cards will be of great value to the game department in determining the numbers of game harvested from each of the hunting areas of the state the distribution of hunters and much other data that will be of assistance in the formu formulation formulate lati on of future management programs the degree of success of this program in determining the game kill is of course directly proportional to the ratio of cards returned the game department therefore urges all hunters who receive one of these car cards ds to promptly fill in the requested information and drop it in the mail box the holes punched around the margins of the cards will be used for coding the information so that it may be automatically tabulated it is thus important that they not be torn out or mutilated in any way approximately 20 percent of the big game hunters 10 percent of pheasant hunters 10 per cent of the waterfowl hunt hunters eTs will be mailed the questionnaire cards the names and addresses of the persons to be contacted are obtained by random selection from license stubs |
