Show ROVING REPORTER mr and mrs ken helquist wish to thank all those who rushed to their aid sunday and helped put out the fire which destroyed their chickens and chicken coop clubs mrs jewell adams and mrs francell entertained the members of their club at an outdoor party thursday fourteen women gathered around a campfire at grants pond and discussed a name for the club while francell and jewell prepared a delicious lunch mrs arlea washburn entertained club members at her home thursday night the evening was spent visiting and a delicious lunch was served the guests get some grub a bed roll and a livorse and lets go with mr and mrs dee black and mr and mrs wendell frost to gooseberry lake and camp out this week they left wednesday morning and plan to be gone until saturday grant and helen bayles went to thompson tuesday they spent the night in moab with helens grandmother mrs J A scoury miss phyllis jones spent the weekend in logan with her cousin I 1 la dean jones who is attending 1 I the A C I 1 mrs fay jones drove to Phe pheonix onic saturday to attend to some business there 07 air ani and mrs kay lyman who have been in provo and gunnison this summer are planning to make their home in blanding this winter they are at home in the lucretia ranney house mr hughes and mr larson accompanied compa nied the esth grade on an I 1 outdoor party at the legion grounds friday night the 0 grade rade had their party at devil 1 canyon the night before they f played games ate and had a good time stars and the moon that mat spells romance or does it not to the science class who saw them through a telescope with mrs redd and mr larsen monday night they all say the moon can be interesting as well as romantic I 1 johny redd son of mr and mrs kermit redd entertained a group of friends on his ath birthday tuesday johny is staying with his grandmother mrs luella rogers and attending school while ile his parents are in Color colorado rado at primary monday the sea gulls and the blue birds welcomed seven new larks into the homebuilder group after a short program they presented the larks with wh little yarn lapel dolls book markers and other gifts they played games and served refreshments the larks say they had a I 1 nice time the guides and trackers Tr eckers also welcomed the blazers as they entered their boy scout training elder gwilliam district pres president i of the navajo ri mission assion in gallup now new mexico was in blanding tuesday while he was here he visited school and spoke in seminary he visited with lila palmer and edith young to see how the navajo girls are getting along who are staying with them there are four others who have one of the girls staying with them deaun johnson esther shumway ila iia johnson and leah lyman leroy rhodes and jos B harris nave have boys staying with them all of these children are from gallup and are et tending school here this winter brother and sister morgan a well known navajo mormon family from gallup have moved to blanding to act as interpreters for the missionaries here the book of mormon club met at the home of henery peterson monday night leon bradford is acting as president at the present time |
