| Show lockerby special correspondence j A good sized crowd attended the dance at lockerby on friday night and everyone seemed to participate in the fun we horie hope that the dance on friday the 23 rd will be just as pleasingly conducted and that a good time will be enjoyed by many more who bindi find dancing a pleasure good showers here and there have started some of our gardens gar jens up if we could but recall the months of june and july we might cli display splay some pretty flower and I 1 vegetable gardens it truly seems I 1 a miracle though that the wheat and beans could have survived the dry weather the wheat yielding a harvest of from 10 to 30 bushels an acre mr and mrs rex johnson attended the spanish trails fiesta in durango over the weekend week end twenty ladies met in a interstate community club meeting at the home of leah bartell thursday afternoon two of the outstanding numbers of the program were a musical quiz byares by president erma shutt and a trio by louise harvey erma nielson and wanda nielson they sang my rosary and in the garden mrs pearl butt and mrs fannie mcgrath both old members of the club were present together for the first time in years as one has lived M in california and the other infalt in salt lake city cantaloupe a la a mode was served our next hostess will be mrs irene brickley I 1 stephen P meyer and his son steve were called to salt lake to the bedside of mrs meyer who is seriously ill with pneumonia mr and mrs albert tree are happy to have two of their daughters and a son in law visiting with them for some time their son harold is with them too we rejoice with mr and mrs julius harvey over the arrival of a baby girl born friday at a m mrs harvey and baby are at mrs harveys mothers home in monticello the little lady is the eighth child in this happy family mr ir and mrs harold tryon have as their guests mr tryons mother and father three sisters and a brother in law whose names we do not know they are from arizona bill barnette and mr titus of moab moved the old lee mecham house onto the stephen P meyer farm where it will be remodeled into a new home for the meyer f family amily we are happy to see mrs naomi gollihar bask back to see her parents mr and mrs S M conn and for foi 1 a visit with home folks and friends I 1 she will visit her brother marion and family in norwood colo and her husbands hus lands parents in telluride colo before return returning in g to garden 1 city kansas where she will attend school next winter friends of mrs rannie fannie mcgrath went picnicking in the blues last tuesday A real shower hit their shady nook and although the picnic was finished in the car they I 1 had a lot of fun chatting and watching the rain those present besides mrs mcgrath were stella perkins pearl butt leah bartell herma johnson miss elaine johnson and little john hazelwood enos nielson brought a nice load of tomatoes up from moab last week mr and mrs A AT johnson were sunday dinner guest of mr and mrs cloyd johnson mr and mrs travest johnson and children enjoyed I 1 a visit and dinner with mr mra and airs forest johnson and little son book of mormon study group met sunday evening el with mrs barbara gage as hostess next sunday the meeting will be at t thea e travest johnson home i |
