| Show no wheat allotment for fall planting 0 1944 wheat goal has been set at acres reports clyn P young county AAA committeeman w who ho points out that this acreage is acres more than the allotted for 1943 and acres above the reported to be planted this year this increase can be reached by planting the normal amount of dry land acreage in wheat without increasing irrigated landacre land acre ag ages states mr young he also declares that there will be no need of plowing up native sod or land planted to alfalfa or crested wheat in order to reach this goal present legislation does not provide for wheat payments in 1944 no wheat marketing quotas will apply for the 1944 marketing year and no payments will be conditioned upon meeting or planting within goals however soil building practice payments will be made for approved practices carried out during the 1944 program year the 1944 loan level cannot be annun announced ced at this time however loans are provided for at not less than 85 of parity and the 1944 wheat loan rate will be announced as early as possible in 1944 it is contemplated that any producer of acceptable wheat will be elig eligible ble to participate in the loan program unless he has adopted farming practices inconsistent with goad farming practices for the area in which his f farm arm is located mr young also wishes to inform those participating in the AAA program this year that it is their responsibility to report their practices to the farm supervisor in order to receive payment under the triple A program this year in reporting practices the farmer s should hould have a list of the number of acres of each crop a list of the practices carried out and where bhea has been harvested h he e sh should 0 u d also give his production t ii on re record cord for this years harvest on each farm on which he has grown wheat the deadline for practices carried out this year has not been set but the committee wishes to encourage farmers to their program as early as possible |
