| Show buzzing about with bee hive 0 the following reports are ara jubilee events in which the graduate guardians participated last summer and are very interesting 4 ehi eh hive e ar activities SO xe le had planned a several days camping trip and decided to go to kayenta kayetta Ka yenta ariz where we could see the filming of the moving picture xit kit carson in our party were eight girls our teach er eri mrs fred jensen and mr and mrs horace pehr Sn leaving town on a friday afternoon we went as far as bluff where we stayed all night while there we explored the surrounding in cliffs and canyons the next morning we continued our trip crossing the san juan river over the swinging bridge near mexican hat utah while at mexican hat we visited with mr norman he showed us how he builds his lu s boats for his perilous fournies jour nies aon tn the dangerous rivers lea leav v mexican hat we went to the famous goosenecks Goos enecks a mast interesting sight I 1 think none of us will ever forget it we took some pictures there of this wonderful view from there we went on to monumental valley that was a very beautiful sight also and we recognized some of the rocks and monuments we had already seen inn the moving 2 picture taken there called stage coach in monumental valley our car got stuck in the deep sand while trying to follow a necessary detour reaching kayenta kayetta Ka yenta we were very disappointed to learn that the shooting of the film had been delayed and we would not have a chance to see it but we did see some of the actors also many indians had bad gathered there with their ponies ready for their part in the indian scenes this part of arizona is on the navajo reservation mrs pehr sons sister lives only a few miles farther at a place called and we went there to spend the night next morning we visited the indian school at the teacher of the school took us around the school buildings and showed us many interesting things about the government school there the buildings are made of mud and formed in a sort of half circle on our return home we again vii vi sited at mexican hat and had bad a swim in the san juan river we cached ya hed ched home monday morning nef girls making the trip were betty jensen eileen chr christensen i stensen erma frost donna christensen marilyn hansen merle hyde claudia young and myself margaret robson |
