Show officers transferred from co 1256 the officers leaders and older men of co 1256 are giving a banquet thursday night august 1 at the hyland cafe in monticello the banquet is a gesture of farewell to major woolums company commander and mr emmerton educational adviser r who are being transferred to other places major albert B woolums company commander of co 1256 for the past year has received special orders effecting festing ef his transfer to co at leeds utah major woolums wool ams was liked and respected by the entire personnel of the camp who looked upon him as a friend and adviser who would do all in his power to help them solve their problems whenever justified during the time that major woolums was in command of co 1256 the morale and d discipline I 1 of the company was brought to a higher level of perfection due to his untiring efforts major woolums is a fine type of officer who knows just how a thing should be done and leaves no stone unturned in his efforts to see to it that it is done so in his dealings with the men under his charge whether in disciplinary action or in award of merit it can never be said that major woolums was unfair or unjust his officers and leaders thank him for his efforts in behalf of the company and ex press their deepest regret at his leaving and send their most sin sincere wishes for the best of luck to accompany him to his new position mr stanley W emmerton educational cat ional adviser of COC co 1256 has received orders to the effect that he is being transferred to co at moab mr emmerton was well liked by all the members of co 1256 for his genial personality and jovial good humor and eagerness to help all those I 1 who came to him for advice he was always enthusiastic ready and capable to carry the educational program at co 1256 to greater heights and more and greater benefits to all those who showed a desire to participate everyone is sorry to see him go and thanks him for his efforts to help the men of co 1256 to become wiser and more capable to cope with the situations actions awaiting them in their future life sincere wishes for the best of luck health and happiness from the members and officers of go with him into I 1 his new venture 1 the annual life saving and swimming school will be held at fort douglas f from born august 5 to 10 two members of co 1256 will ue e I 1 selected to attend this training course they will leave saturday august 3 for a wee week of intensive training in life saving i chaplain cullerton district I 1 chaplain held services in the educational building sunday night and monday morning A large group of men attended the services ices A new cutaway cut away truck and chassis sis came into camp this week the demonstration model will be used by y the to instruct the men inen in auto mechanics and to help mr wright in constructing one for the auto mechanics class the cutaway cut away truck has all the moving I 1 ng parts showing in such a manner that the student can see just how a gas engine works the regular company meeting was held in the recreational building on monday night the entire company enjoyed several short talks given by members of the company the educational program is is in in full swing and mr emmerton reports very good attendance to all class classes cs one more new class has been added to the number now offered this class will present twice a month some sort of entertainment tain ment at company meetings last saturday afternoon the softball team of co 1256 started to play a game of softball with the team from the blanding camp but just as the game got well under way it began to rain so the game was called off until a later date |
