Show cleanup clean up campaign Is well under way A well weil organized committee met in the county court house last night to discuss ways and means to collect and dispose of the litter and rubbish which has long been in eyesore eye sore to the residents of monticello who are trying to the town action taken at a recent town aboard board meeting resulted in the appointment nent of three members from each of the clubs and three from the blue mountain civic club all of whom met last night to formulate plans although much preliminary work had been done before the meeting paul sieber acted as chairman and announced that six trucks I had bad been promised to haul the trash to the designated dumping I 1 grounds at the appointed time it was agreed to set saturday may 25 as cleanup clean up day although this does not mean to wait until that date to begin in the meantime a ho use to house canvass will be made by a group of women to inform householders to have their accumulation of trash piled up within easy reach of those who will call on the morning of the to collect it it is not intended that things that can be easily disposed of be collected but only such things as cannot be burned in the meanwhile dan B perkins was chosen to take charge of the trucks and direct the work on may 25 and in our next issue we will publish the final word concerning this part of the work it was agreed that one man and two women will accompany each truck in order that the boys who will volunteer volu teer for the work may be properly instructed and the work accomplished more quickly y school and church leaders will I 1 be e interviewed immediately and a by helen barlage mary the moth call for volunteers among the continued on page 16 cleanup clean up campaign n continued from page one young men and boys of the town I 1 will follow tho tha record would 1 like to receive the names of ald all who will take part in the cleanup campaign and offers now the names of those present at the meeting last night 1 in addition to the chairman 0 paul A sieber and dan B perkins marvin dalton was the third representative from the blue mountain civic club the daughters of utah pioneers will be represented by the president mary alary jane wilson eva bronson nina perkins and may cooper the rebus rota club appointed the president isabelle redd florine black and marie M ogden and the alonce club named thora norton cleone cooper and hazel frost in iru addition to these members others will be chosen to carry out the program decided on last night the city will be divided into six sections and work will be speeded up through your cooperation with the plan the committee requests that all householders be bein begin in at once to collect and dispose of the trash which may have gathered in front of their houses as well as within their fences we earnestly request your cooperation and the united efforts of each member of your family in order that our city may be one of the cleanest spots in this state and attract the attention of the I 1 tourists who are even now begin 1 ning to pass through or stop off as they journey to the scenic spots which are all around us we would also like to have the name of every child who will take part in the home cleanup clean up work now and when the campaign is over we will have something of further interest to say to thesel those who will volunteer for the service to be rendered now |
