Show Reader 1 a tal Sl 9 cloumn C n afi pk S ft i SS 0 18 L 8 S J f LJ I 1 A B B I 1 under this heading each week you will find comments in brief calling attention to outstanding things you are doing toward improvements prove ments in cooperation with the planning board and in regard to special articles we may include each week we also invite your personal personal comments and will include your letters if they contain information ip of general interest to our readers we call attention to the account of the meeting of the rebus rota club on page one because of aba guest speakers pe kers mrs ralph bailey and john D lewis who brought to the attention of the club memi mem i bers the work outlined by the planning board and who also gave interesting talks about landscaping and home gardening we have the added information promised last week in regard to the blanding committee to serve with the chairman of that district R W mcallister they are hattie R barton freda hunt frank baylss bayles and leroy hunt watch this column for additional notes next week I 1 be sure to read the fine account on page five of the outing spon bored by the dads of thle beehive bee hive girls of blanding we pay tribute to lona P hurst who prepared the story she not only expressed I a deep inner feeling for the beauties of nature as she described the trip arid and told of the first signs of spring but showed marked talent lent in her attempt to Oe scribe the event in verse into which she inducted inducted a bit of humor although space did not permit of printing it as poetry you will catch the rhythm of the lines as you read this section of her stor story which reminds us that a reader commented on the la sal school news of last week and complimented the young poet poat mark redd who told the story of the poor lost kite did you read it if not do so for f or it too is worthy of mention and when we go to la sal again we will look for the poor shattered kite all tattered and smashed and not moved an inch from where she crashed good wo k h mark and let us have more or of your clever lines there has been much comment recently about the early date on which easter was observed this year and the reason for it from an eastern paper we offer the following account which we suggest you keep for f or future reference did you take note of the change of advertisement for L V shutt if f North dak we called at the store last fluek and had our usual pleasant visit with mr and mrs shutt these colorado friends have been loyal to the san junn record ever since mia can remember and we hope their business will increase in proportion to thir th ir advertising with the advent of spring and the need for the machinery they cary we next call attention to the letter received by mr palmer in regard to the contest for families in our state who are eligible to compete for the free trip to the new york world fair be sure to read the letter on page 13 and get in touch with mr palmer concerning the plan we hope to give you more information on the subject next week and it be fine it if san juan county could I 1 oe de represented another letter from dr I 1 M cohn of blanding follows blanding utah march 29 1940 dear mrs ogden knowing of your highly commendable desire to give adequate publicity to any matter of benefit to san juan county and its citizens I 1 take the liberty to call your attention jt to the enclosed article appearing in the march issue of the bulletin official weekly publication li of the chicago dental society the largest dental society in the world I 1 would appreciate your giving this article publicity city in the san juan record this article is the report of a united states government indictment against a dr S B heininger for fraudulently operating a mail order denture or plate business the reason I 1 feel that this matter should be given local publicity is because many people in this district have likely been or possibly may be sadly deceived by propositions I 1 have seen a few of these cases whenever I 1 am consulted regarding the advisability of an individual seeking denture service from such charlatans am truly embarrassed in giving helpful advice if I 1 should say adno no I 1 would likely be accused of giving unfavorable advice because 1 I selfishly desired to obtain this work for myself if I 1 should inadvertently advise yes and the individual concerned should receive unsatisfactory dentures and is defrauded then I 1 would beheld be held to some degree at least to have been directly responsible for this poor boosh foo sh advice yours very gratefully I 1 M COHN |
