Show sidewalk L light i g h t and water work Is projected town board holds busy session tues bues E evening cilc club gets ests licese license concessions for celebration the monticello town board held its regular monthly session monday night with a full board in in attendance county commissioner R A bailey appeared before the board and presented an outline for a town tawn sidewalk improvement plan under the national youth work program whereby it is possible to secure the services of the youth of the town under government pay for the purpose after gong going over the matter thoroughly the board decided to sponsor such a project to begin on the first of july A resolution was adopted whereby the town street committee will have charge of the work to carry it out it will be necessary for property owners to furnish teams or trucks for the hauling of gravel and other sidewalk material the town furnishing the labor through the employment of the youth of the town the resolution provides that property owners must contact the street committee and make arrangements for the improvement in pro of the sidewalks in front of their premises before the work will be permitted to start in order to comply with the towns exactions in the matter wherever fence lines infringe or overlap the sidewalk the property owner will be required to either remove such fences themselves or allow them to be removed and replaced bythe by the town by the boys labor the board went over the matter of securing loan and grant to improve the present light and water system and to pay off the present revenue bonds claud young and N W sitton were delegated to assemble the necessary data preparatory to making the application and to present it to the town engineer and the state board for final assembling for presentation to the government at the earliest possible moment the matter of license concessions for the pioneer day celebration came up for discussion and it was decided to allow the civic club all concession fees collected during the celebration with the provision that the club pay for the services of a marshal to keep order during the celebration the town to retain all fines if any shall be assessed for infraction of the law A resolution was passed defining the street curb line as ft from the property line as defined by the L H rath survey of the town the resolution prohibits the placing of light telephone poles or any other obstructions to street traffic ie at a greater distance I 1 from the property line 1 the president of the board was instructed to employ a pound keeper to see that loose stock is kept the streets |
