pink lemonade and everything else that goes with circus festivities yes and those kinds saw a lot lot of funny looking animals too in the menagerie tent i george was among those kids and he be came home that night all ex cited you know a lot of excitement and a diet of hot dogs and ice cream and soda pop are not conducive to good sound healthy sleep well george sleep very well that night either first grof george ge dreamed that an elephant was trampling him after that a knife thrower began tossing knives at ha mm 1 in and it looked like every doggone knife was going to go right through him the bearded lady tried to kiss him and then a big lion leaped at him out of nowhere and started to claw him to ribbons all night long george dreamed dreams just like that in the morning he woke up all tense and restless he felt relieved at having gotten through that night with ith all its worries was thinking to himself how lucky it was that dreams really come true then suddenly he became aware of a strange phenomenon there was someone in his robin room someone who was snoring and there was his dream tiger puzzled georgel george tur turned nedjo to take a look and then he almost jumped out of his skin on the floor right next to his bed lay jay a TIGER bot a adream dream tiger a real one sleeping leeping peacefully be side hain him A for a moment says jasys george 1 I lay paralyzed unable even to think A scream would rouse the beast heastand bea stand and what might happen then even want to consider my room was on a lower floor and through the open window I 1 could see my dad going off to work but I 1 dare call out to hirn him in tact fact I 1 was afraid to get off the bed still my mind told me that when the beast awoke he would want his breakfast I 1 HAD to get out of that room I 1 sat up slowly put a j bare foot on the floor my plan was to step over the tiger and make a dash daal for the door but the plan work for suddenly the tiger moved he was awake 15 he just licked georges leg george dropped back on his pillow and played dead his barefoot bare foot i still hung bung over the side of the bed but he dare move it 1 I stole a glimpse at the tiger he says just as he was rising to his feet H he e dawned yawned yaw ned revealing the great cavern of his terrible jaws I 1 fought not to tremble he began to pace around the room whenever he came near me I 1 shut my eyes tight then I 1 felt him licking at my ba bar elleg ills his tongue was as rough as sandpaper it fairly grated across 1 my skin awn I 1 lay deathly still expecting every minute to feel him snap my leg off then I 1 heard beard a sharp growl followed by a full throated roar and thought my time had come but georges time come that roar directed at him but at a man at the open window that men was the tigers keeper he called out softly jara jaral jara then a rope flew out and encircled the tigers neck another caught his upraised paw and two men came in through the window and caught the beast in a steel netting georges mother came rushing into the room and promptly fainted the two men explained that the tiger had broken from his cage the night before and they had been looking tor for him ever
