Show STATE DEPT OF HEALTH ISSUES FLU instructions 1 I desire to call to the attention cfall health officers physicians and the general public for their guidance certai certaion in regulations of the state board beard of health in relation to the prevention and control of influenza said dr J L jones state health commissioner to our reporter today 1 f r 1 every case or suspected case of influenza shall be reported immediately to the local health authorities and in turn to the state hoard board cf f vr TT T T where no physician phy sican is in attendance it is the duty of parents guardians nurses etc to report tho the case 2 the home in which the case is confined shall be placarded pla carded by the local health authorities this c establishes the isolation for tile the patient and serves to warn the public that a case exists there I 1 I 1 3 isolation shall r 1 4 until at least three days day s after afi the temperature has returned to normal 4 cases shall be excluded aiom chool until the termination of the isolation period sa s1 r 5 all persons exposed a and na attending school shall be carefully examined each morning for foi five successive days for any sign or 7 symptoms of this disease 1 IA 11 C G ailing children shall be from school and toy only return after the disappearance symptoms or with a written statement of a physician that tb the child is not in a contagious condition I 1 rl these latter regulations ale aie not only applicable to the schools but the state board of HIT recommends end that chev be r in stores shops offices and other places of work employing a number of people 7 if a case is properly isolated other occupants of the household who do not colne coine in contact mth the patient and show no evidence of illness need not be confined to the promises premises 8 no person suffering from influenza shall be removed from any community or county in which found unless written consent to such removal be first obtained from the health authorities of the jurisdiction from which and to which removal is contemplated 9 public funerals are permissible in deaths from influenza if all offices of the deceased have been closed with absorbent cotton soaked with approved dis infecting these regulations were esta esla 1 yeddo safeguard the welfare of the public health authorities are charged with 7 ith the responsibility of 0 f their enforcement but this can be done effectively only when phy school authorities and the general public give their full fuli cooperation |
