Show TEN TENNESSEE TOPICS ooltewah tenn jan 13 1935 the coming coining week is n t busy one ifor for those on the ochs farm for its movin moving time not so much furniture iture and ners personal onal belongings but loads of cornstalk corn stalk fodder and q 60 bales of hay bay which Is not sale sae abl fl ble nt at the present time anil and which is part of their share of the crop of the past season all this to be moved three and a half miles to a smal farn fairn they have rented that is the house is rented and the barns in to store the feed and the forty acres of pasture adjoining is sort of thrown in to do what they like with the arrangement is an adjustable one so that should it be possible at any time to again take up tip residence on the ochs firm farm F irm they can do so messages indicate taix eventuality aa al will work out tor for the good of all in the long run of that we ire are sure up here on the hilltop hill top the writer hes been busy trying to plan for the coming season for OF COURSE we shall obtain this land SOMEHOW even if we are given thirty days to pay up or get off because some will surey surely help so it IS fg a question of whit to plant and how with VERY limited funds and there seems such a variety of opinion down here that one is is like a possum with anih he dogs after it very much up a tree however the land will not be allowed to lie idle and somehow it will all al be planted tor for the way will open up if we ony only seek hard enough some have questioned though of things needed and it might be well to sa that all kinds kr ds of tools for car carpenter peiter work ind farm work are needed in the former cass c aiss there is a crosscut cross cut saw one man or two steel square planes a good ham hammer in er vice drill etc in the latter class spade sp ide fork pick rake etc and of course lif sume good friend could come across with a complete 1 set of farm equipment such as a plow harrow barrow seeder and so forth and ship it in well wel then we WOULD be able to t do things down here most of the farm work is accomplished with a 2 pair of mules whereas up north it is more machinery there is for instance a one man bombina tion con of plow harrow cultivator seeder which operates by motor mor and is used up north by many small farmers as it does at all the work of a benm and more for it will also operate a saw or other machines needing power to operate them sue an outfit here would be ideal fr for then one man could easily hande whole farm whereas unless equipment is made available it will be necessary to lo cl call in help which will either be paid for or tak taken en out in croppi coopt cropt the writer would be pleased to po go into more detail with any correspondent with helpful ideas for it i 1 seen as so necessary a gantt top crop be assur erl for this year and lowing Ti Owing should be started immediately ERNEST PAT |
