Show 4-H, FFA leaders honored at appreciation banquet One hundred sixty 4-H and FFA leaders attended the annual Leader Appreciation Banquet sponsored by the Davis County Bankers Association at Clearfield High School. SPECIAL award plaques were presented. Gay Snow was recognized recog-nized for the special service she gives leaders as the 4-H secretary. Claude Snow received a plaque in appreciation of his 13 years of service ser-vice to 4-H leaders and youth of Davis County. Davis County School Districted presented a plaque pla-que to Nile Carlson for his work with FFA. Marilyn Dahl was honored hon-ored for her services to the 4-H Adult Leaders Council as the outgoing out-going president. Leader pins were given to the following volunteers who have donated five years of volunteer service ser-vice to 4-H: Althea Adams, Fruit Heights; Ruth Ann Baker, Kays-ville; Kays-ville; Rhonda Dover, Layton: Walter Wal-ter Flint, West Point; Joanne Hansen. Han-sen. Clinton; Marge Hawkes, West Point; Linda Herget. Fruit Heights; Randy Hoffman, Bountiful; Bounti-ful; Barbara Home. Layton; Dana Love. Syracuse; Diane Mathews and Blanche Nelson. Bountiful: Helen Perkins, Farmington: Bren-da Bren-da Roundy. Bountiful; Kathleen Savage, Layton; Larry Savage and Zona Savage, South Weber; Dixie Simpson, Syracuse; April Tur-neau, Tur-neau, Kaysville; Gayle Whitesides and Barbara Wiser, Kaysville and Eileen Wood, Bountiful. TEN YEAR leader pins were given to the following: Tanna Baxter, Bax-ter, Woods Cross, Mella Bedell, Centerville; Kathryn Huffaker, Layton; Judy McCalmant, Layton; Ruth Ann Miller, Layton: Laurie Sides, Farmington and Brenda Ward. Centerville. A special pho'o:iaphy pin was given to Diana oung. Bountiful. - ALISA Bedell, Centerville, Cliff Goble, Syracuse, and Mariln Dahl, Layton, presented the program "Youth for America." Each related re-lated their experiences on 4-H sponsored trips and encouraged 4-H 4-H leaders to be supportive and enthusiastic en-thusiastic about 4-H. Lee Sherry and Steve Jackson presented a tribute tri-bute to volunteers. Shamrocks were presented to the leaders explaining the three leaves represented Heads, Hearts and Health of the 4-H Pledge. The fourth "H" the leaders would have to provide - the Hands to do larger service to the club, the community, the country and the world. |
