Commencement Tea Social Arts will have their Com-mencement Tea in the foyer of South high on May 14. First the girls meet in the music room for a short program at which the officers will give their fare-well speeches. Gardenias will be given to girls with perfect attend-ance records, and a prize will be given to the girl who has kept the best scrap book. The committee for this Tea is: Vivian Edman, chairman; Virginia Davis, Doris Dibble, Melba Dodge, Mary Duffin, Nola Egbert, Shirley Erskine, Jean Evans, Betty Fig-ga- t, Margaret Brubaker, Yvonne Buchner, La Rue Burrett, Bonnie Callister, Donna Cederholm, Bar-bara Cederholm, Jean Chase and Eva Corbett. With their final inspection and regimental review only two weeks away, the cadets of the South high Battalion have a lot of work on their hands. The final inspection, May 13, will be a complete and comprehensive affair and will take an entire day for its completion. The reviewing officer will be Colonel Jere Baxter. The purpose of this inspection is to determine whether or not the battalion is of sufficient excellence to be worthy of an honor rating. On Friday, May 18, a regimental review will be held. In this re-view all three ROTC battalions, East, West and South, will partic-ipate. These schools will form a regiment under a colonel chosen from one of the three schools. This colonel was chosen from the South battalion last year. It is believed the student body will be excused to witness this re-view, but the exact time will be made known later. Scribes Advise Good Treatment For Sammies A committee in Scribe was ask-ed by a young man to print a few rules for girls to follow when out on a date. Tomorrow night may be a good time for all girls to put these into practice. 1. Don't talk or laugh noisily, indoors or out. Fellows hate be-ing made conspicuous. 2. Don't ask inquisitive ques-tions about what really isn't ,your business. Confine yourself to comfortable questions that don't embarrass them or put them on the spot or make them self-conscio- us 3. Don't hesitate to wear blue if they said they like blue. Being contrary doesn't make you provo-cative. 4. If you have a good time when you go out, by all means say so. 5. Be punctual and insist on1 the fellows being the same. It ia( rude to impose on friends by as-suming that your time is more im-portant than theirs. 6. Don't be sharp, catty, sar-castic, or even continually funny. A fellow enjoys humor, but not as a steady diet. 7. Most fellows prefer nails trat don't remind them of Draculla, so when dark crimson is fashion-able and others wear them claw-lengt- h, don't go to extremes if you are interested in pleasing. Cubs Heed Vocations Broadcasts Panel discussions of vocational interest are presented weekly over KUTA by students of South high school. The schedule for the present has been changed from Monday to Wednesday. On Wednesday, May 6, four students who are interested in engineering will be interviewed by Jed F. Woolley over a broad-cast at 6:45 p. m. Participants will be Robert Lambourne, Craig Ken-dall, Eldon Monson and Bob Ever-she- d. In this discussion they will explain their interests to the pub-lic. Medicine was discussed pn April 6. Dr. F. M. McHugh interviewed Sherman Thorpe, Gene Andreason and James Harwood. On the 13th future nurses, Mary Ann Maher, Claire Jean Shegogne and Bonnie Jean Scott, discussed their .vocation with Dr. Charles R. Cornwall. Arch M. Thurman presented teaching on April 20,. with stu-dents Oneita Pack, Robert Story and Elaine West. Commercial training was pre-sented on April 27. A. Hamer Reiser conducted and participants were Dorothy Holmes, Mardean McDonald, Dorothy Morton and Lois Wilkes. FOR A REAL CANDY j THRILL j Brazil Foursome j !'
