Show . 1 i ' 'Old Settlers' Ramble Back to Wild West Days Gala Event Commences At 9 Tonight "OP Timers" Settle In Boys' Gym Bedecked in costumes typical of the frontier days of the West, students of South will dance to the music of Alden Richards and his " . orchestra tonight at SAM's annual Old Settlers' ball. Beginning at 9 o'clock, the gala affair will take place in the boys' gym where decorations will carry out the general Western .theme with sagebrush adding a realistic touch. All students in old fashioned fash-ioned costumes, levis, and plaid shirts, will make the atmosphere somewhat like it was "in the good ol' wild west days." Beard-growing Contest Ends Today Today marks the end of the beard-growing contest, sponsored . annually by SAM for the masculine mascu-line half of the school. Boys have carefully cultivated beards, mustaches, mus-taches, goatees, and fuzz, which were submitted by their owners for judging on the assembly today. The winners will be awarded prizes tonight at the dance. Also on hand to lend an all-masculine flavor to festivities is this issue of Scribe edited. by the boys on the paper staff. Formerly the feminine femi-nine half edited an issue of Scribe, However, due to the prevalence of girls, on this year's staff, the boys undertook the responsibility of publishing an edition. |
