Show 3 Public Health Notes The general health picture for the State over the previous week ending September 19 showed a slight improvement over the previous pre-vious week. A total of 105 cases of communicable disease was re- I ported as compared with 113 for j the pervious week and 198 for the corresponding week in 1940. j As a result of the recent, re quirements by the State Board of j Health, that all cases of rheumatic rheuma-tic fever be reported, 4 cases of ! this disease are reported on this week's bulletin. The ages of the patients were 10, 11, 15, and 57, respectfully. The latter was a case of long standing in which the i cardiac decompensation has dc-Two dc-Two cases of infantile paraly-I paraly-I sis were reported from Salt Lake City both patients were boys under 55 years of age. One case of typhoid fever a girl age 3 years, was reported from Hyrum, Utah. This makes a total of 26 cases of typhoid fever fev-er for 1941 as compared with 17 cases for the corresponding period last year. Salt Lake City reported one case of tularemia, the infection occured as a result of an "insect bite." One case of undulant fever was reported from Davis Iounty. Thisi disease is common to domestic 'animals and is usually transmitted to man through drinking unpas-j teurized milk. j |
