Show KIWANIS CLUB TAKES OVER S. II. BARD GROUP Through an invitation of the Sugar House chamber of commerce, the Kiwanis club of the community this week took over sponsorship of the Sugar House boys' and girls' band. The Rev. Robert J. Nicholas, chairman of the Sugar House Kiwanis Ki-wanis youth committee, will have direct supervision of the spirited little 100 piece band, and Howard Miller, Sugar House Finance company com-pany official, will be chairman of the band activities in the club. . To get acquainted with the band boys and girls, the Kiwanians will hold a weiner roast Friday, September Sep-tember 11, at Fairmont park. All band members and their parents par-ents are bidden to the affair in order to get acquainted and friendly friend-ly with the new sponsors. Kiwanis club accepted full responsibilities re-sponsibilities of the band in the future as one of its key youth activities. Kiwanis is noted for its youth work, and is pleased to take over its new task, which the chamber felt, was rightly a club project for youth, rather than a business venture of the chamber. |
