Show Scouts - Guardsmen Test Food Drop Plan Thirty Explorer Scouts of Post 101 Rosecrest Ward, East Mill Creek Stake with Post Advisor, Carl Roestenberg, received a 200 pound food drop consisting of canned can-ned goods, fresh milk, meat and ice cream at Pinto Lake in the Iligh Uintah mountains. The drop was made by the Utah Air National Na-tional Guard. Preliminary arrangements ar-rangements for the drop were coordinated co-ordinated through Lt. Col Roland R. Wright, commanding officer of the 191st Fighter Interceptor Squadron. The actual food drop ! was made by Col. Alma G. Winn, Chief of Staff for Air of the Utah National Guard. This was a preliminary test of dropping food into the Uintahs to Explorers to test the feasibility of a large Explorer trek into- the , L'intahs during the week of July 23rd to 28th. Explorer Scouts from the East Mill Creek District will leave Monday Mon-day morning, July 23rd from 1 Camp Steiner in the Uintah Mountains Moun-tains for a week long thirty mile trek back into the wilderness area arriving Friday night, July 27th at the Scout Camp on the East Fork of the Bear River at which time there will be a Fathers' and Sons' Outing for Scouts and members mem-bers of the Aaronic Priesthood. The Friday night program will be conducted by the Aaronic Priesthood Priest-hood Committee of the East Mill Creek Stake. |
