Show mm bouse STUBEBTS 10 I mn C8STEST High school students in the Sugar House area were invited to enter the sixth annual "Voice of Democracy" Democ-racy" contest sponsored by Salt Lake Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce this week. Any student in the tenth, eleventh elev-enth of twelfth grade of any public, private or parochial school in the aera is eligible to enter the competition, comp-etition, according to Chris Metos, chairman. Explaining the contest, Mr. Metos said it is a "broadcast script writing and voicing competition which gives American youth an opportunity op-portunity to examine seriously, and speak in behalf of, the virtues of living under a democratic system sys-tem of government." In the Salt Lake region, awards will be given to individual school winners and state winners will participate par-ticipate in a national contest. Four national winners will receive all-expense all-expense trips to Washington, D. C, and 15500 college scholarships. |
