Teresa Polychronis Tours India as Savant's Companion Miss Teresa Polychronis last week was awarded a congressional internship to he research department depart-ment of the Library of Congress. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Polychronis, 2564 Green Street, and proprietors of the Hol-laday Hol-laday Saveway Super Market. Miss Polychronis was the youngest young-est and the only woman journalist to be chosen from a panel of ten outstanding political science and journalist students from the 48 states. The internship will begin August Aug-ust 1 and continue through September Sep-tember 1, 1956. During the term, the group will study congressional activities and make a report on its finds for better public understanding under-standing of the workings of Congress. Con-gress. At the present Miss Polychronis is traveling in India as a companion compan-ion to Supodh Shandra Ray, noted blind professor who is lecturing at schools for the blind throughout through-out India. She was appointed to her duties by the New York state commission for the blind. Miss Polychronis received her education in Salt Lake City schools and received her bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Utah. She took her masters degree from Columbia University in journalism. As a student of the University of Utah, she was correspondent for the Deseret News and Telegram. |
