Show EMC PARADE TO HIGHLIGHT FOURTH OF JULY Everyone loves the Fourth of July parade in East Mill Creek. The annual Independence Day parade will be led by Queen Kathleen Kath-leen Fisher and King Eddie Plant Jr., flanked by attendants, Cheryl Brown and Richard Hardy. A hand drawn float, fashioned from white satin and yellow roses, with gold canopy, will provide fitting fit-ting background for the royal party. In regal splendor the miniature parade marched down 27th East on Evergreen Ave. to East Mill Creek park. Eight sections were included in the parade, folk, patriotic, popular and other nations bicycle, balled, religious and pioneer, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. There will be concessions and food at the East Mill Creek park after the parade and a children's circus at Mt. Olympus stables will be staged at 2, 5, 6 and 8 p.m. John Evans Jr. is general parade pa-rade chairman and the affair is under the direction of Frank E. Pitts, president of the EMC Lions club, and Mrs. Roswell H. Coons, president of the EMC Lady Lions. |
