Show someone in dire need will benefit from your generosity. HARD AT WORK are the committees com-mittees of the chamber of commerce. com-merce. For example, on Tuesday, March 13, A. A. Seiter's tourist committee met at 9 a. m., and J. W. Andrews' legislative affairs committee met at noon on Mon day, March 19, Neisen Bank's community services committee will meet on the subject of better bet-ter drainage for McClelland and 10th East streets .north of 21st South. A committee member, Wendell Cottrell, has arranged for Commissioner Christensen and Mr. Denhalter of the city street department to be present. AND there are several other committees who are hard at work all of them striving to make this a better community. It's wonderful won-derful to see folks willing to give up some of their valuable time for a worthwhile civic cause. We hope that more people will awaken to how much the community com-munity needs them, and "put their shoulders to the wheel." Chamber Chatter By D. James Cannon Executive Secretary QUIZ: What is Utah's fourth largest industry, which has real possibility of becoming No. 1 in the state? Give up ? Well, it's the tourist industry, which presently ranks behind mining, manufacturing and agriculture in dollar volume, but could easily forge to the front as Utah's top income producer. So that we may all understand the importance of tourist trade, the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce is devoting its next general meeting, Wednesday, March 21, to that subject, and will have as its guest speaker .John C. Campbell, director of the Utah Tourist and Publicity Council. THE TOURIST dollar benefits everyone in the community, either directly or indirectly. And every time we get the tourist to extend his visit a few hours or a full day, it means that we are approaching ap-proaching the goal of tourism becoming be-coming Utah's main industry. Mr. Campbell will come to the chamber cham-ber meeting next Wednesday noon with some very interesting facts and figures which will be an eye-opener to most of us. We'll tell you more about this fascinating fascinat-ing business next week. HOW LONG since you gave a pint of blood to someone in need? We'll bet it's been a long, long time. Next Monday, March 19, from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m., you'll have your opportunity while the Red Cross Blood Bank Is open in the J. C. Penney Co. building (downstairs) in Sugar House. You should know that giving one pint of blood won't hurt you (if it did, they wouldn't take it), and |
