Show FRENCH SALONS OPEFIS IH SUGAR HOUSE As new as a freshly minted penny and ten times as bright, Antoinette's French Salon opened in Sugar House this week. Exquisite elegance marks the beauty emporium, which is located in Shopping Lane on Highland Drive. Erma Owen and Mary E. Jensen are partners in the beauty salon venture, and have surrounded themselves with experts in hair, facial and figure culture. Dorothea Davis is the masseuse, coming from Hollywood, where her name is listed among the top women of her profession. An all-glass steam room is one of the features of the new salon, and novel styled booths are spaced charmingly for each beauty operator. op-erator. A French tapestry of the Louis XV period, valued into the thousands thou-sands of dollars, decorates one wall, and provincial furniture of most elegant taste gives the place an atmosphere seldom seen in a beauty salon. Real Czechoslovakia crystal chandeliers adorn the ceiling and golden laminated oak walls set the rooms off with charm and style. The tapestry is worth a trip of any woman or man, too, for that matter. Spun gold thread is woven into the pattern depicting the tree of life of an entire French family. Just being completed, the new salon operators invite the public in to see their shop, one which certainly will be an asset to Sugar House and Highland Drive. |
