Jeromita, school librarian, said selection of the new books will be made from lists compiled com-piled by department heads after they have consulted members of the faculty. This is the school year's second large program of expansion for St. j Marys-of-the-Wasatch. Earlier in 1 the year plans were formulated for a microfilm department, a com. ! paratively new medium for storing ' bulky periodicals. The microfilm equipment and films utilize about 10 per cent of the space heretofore used for storing magazines and paperback books. This will relinquish re-linquish stack space for the new books in the present library quarters. However, the 17,000 volumes will then more than fill the stack area and school officials say physical expansion of the quarters will be imperative. |
