Show Sho-De-O Opens Horsey Classic Utah's greatest exhibition of horsemanship the 10th annual Ute Rangers Sho-De-O swings into thrill packed action tonight and winds up tomorrow evening. Riding forth with some of America's finest horseflesh, some of its most rugged wild west and a great cross-section of its sport, the Ute Ranger Sho-De-O will be staged in the Salt Lake County Fair Grounds in Murray, at 5200 South State street. There will be a grand entry of all participants tonight at 8 o'clock. From that minute on, there will be no lag in the affair which rates as the most colorful of all Utah demonstrations of horsemanship. Listed on the long calender of events are; calf roping, five gaited saddle horses, three gaited, pony classes, bareback and saddle bronc riding, trick riding, precision drills, stock horse demonstrations, Brahma Brah-ma bull riding, harness races, Arabian costume exhibitions, junior and kiddies events. A special stallion show will be conducted Saturday at 6 p. m. in plenty of time to show off these fin animals before the rodeo. Dipo said the general chairman is N. M. Hetherington, with Mel Bennett serving as assistant. Judge will be Al Wolfe, with Marion Snow as announcer, and Oscar Bennion as ring master. The club president will present trophies to winner, and Phil Nielsen, Niel-sen, vice president, will award the ribbons. |
