Show PALMER BILLED TO KEYNOTE WORLD AFFAIR Reverend J. Richard Palmer, president of Westminster College, will deliver the keynote address at the World Community Day observance ob-servance to be held Friday, No- vember 7 at Wasatch Presbyterian church. The rites are being sponsored by the Salt Lake Council of Church Women, and are centered about the theme, "Building Lasting Peace." Also at the morning session will be a number of international stu- -dents and women from other countries dressed in native costume. cos-tume. They will accept, each for her own country, Packets for Peace, prepared by local groups of church women. A great many Packets containing layettes and clolhing for children under six years of age will be sent to foreign for-eign countries, according to Mrs. R. D. Rice, president of the Salt Lake Council of Church Women. A luncheon at 12:30 will be followed fol-lowed by musical numbers and a panel discussion. Mrs. Isako Schlatter Schlat-ter will sing several vocal selections. selec-tions. A panel of six students from the Christian Fellowship House at the University of Utah will discuss "Christian Foundations for Lasting Last-ing Peace." Moderator is Warren Murrfhy. Paul Placek, Jacque Gawn, Richard Bailey, Ernest Rasch and Barbara Hummel complete com-plete the discussion group. Mrs. P. L. Stevenson is chairman of the entire affair, and is assisted by Mss Florence Pierce of the I YWCA, Mrs. Clarence Baldry and Mrs. R. L. Agent. |
