Show LIONS LISTEN TO LEADER AT 2 AFFAIRS Edgar M. Elbert, Maywood, 111., international president of Lions, encouraged the members to adhere to the purposes and objectives of the organization, when he spoke to nearly 900 delegates from more than 140 Lions clubs in Utah Monday. An invitational luncheon was held in Hotel Utah at which Mr. Elbert also spoke briefly. ' During the day the group visited the Murray B. Allen Center for the Blind. The midwinter banquet was held at the Newhouse hotel Monday evening. Four Utah district governors, Alton C. Melville, Salt Lake City; Chester A. Thomas, Zion Park; Mel Hanks, Salem, and Collin W. Lowder, Ogden, attended Monday's events as well as representatives from Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado and Nevada clubs. Thirty members from Sugar House attended the affair. |
