Show L. J. ROBERTSON SYMPHONY TO BE PLAYED Dr. Leroy J. Robertson's Symphony Sym-phony No. 2 (Trilogy) will be per-, per-, fo:med by the Utah Symphony orchestra or-chestra next Tuesday, November 30, at the Salt Lake LDS Tabernacle Taber-nacle as the feature of the third regular subscription concert of the 1954-55 season. The Trilogy, completed in 1939, won the Reichhold award of $25,000 in 1947 and brought national na-tional attention to Dr. Robertson. The performance of this outstanding out-standing work is expected to be one of the highlights of the sym- phony season. Conductor Maurice Abravanel also has scheduled the Prokofieff Violin Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, with concert master Harold Wolf as soloist. The program will be opened with the Handel "Royal Fireworks Music." The Trilogy also will, be presented present-ed at the Ogden high school auditorium audi-torium on Thursday night, December De-cember 5, the first of four major concerts at Ogden this season. Other Oth-er concerts are scheduled aJnuary 6, February 10 and March 14. |
