She called to Goldie, her cocker spaniel, and off they went from the back yard of their home at 1978 Douglas Ave., across the alley, through an apartment hou; across 12th East and onto the Irving school grounds. She tried several doors, found one open, went in. A few minutes later, a custodian discovered the minute sized tot and her dog, called Police Lieutenant Ray S. Cahoon, who took them to the Sugar House police station. Perfectly content, the little girl and her dog went through police files and chatted with officers until her distraught mother, Mrs. Dar-lene Dar-lene Merrihew, called up, fearful as to the whereabouts of the little wayfarers. She hurried to the station, retrieved re-trieved her daughter and the faithful faith-ful little spaniel (which never left the side of xthe toddler) and hurried home to her six-weeks-old youngster, young-ster, who was far too tiny to toddle tod-dle off to see the sights. Mr, John E. Merrihew, owner-operator owner-operator of the Merrihew Products Box company, 7600 Highland Drive, didn't know of the excitement until he came home Monday night. |
