Show Wilford Welfare Farm Carnival Opens Today The gala Wilford Stake Farm FunDa carnival begins today at 2 p.m. and amiable Paul Pehrson, general chairman, says all members mem-bers of the stake are anticipating the two-day fun fest. The big affair is scheduled at Grahdview ward and new sidewalks and a large new parking lot, which will accommodate several hundred cars, will be duly initiated at the .affair. The eight wards of the stake are going all out for the costume contest con-test to bring home to their ward the new electric sewing machine. Thirty booths will make up a part of the carnival concessions, including includ-ing games, foods and the country store. The prize booth is in charge -of M. L. "Bud" Brain and LeRoy DeKarver. Hundreds of valuable prizes will be gathered by the committee, com-mittee, ranging from a home freezer to a man's suit. Imperial, Imperial West, Kenwood Ken-wood and Cummings wards will serve the dinner tonight on the spacious lawn of the Grandview chapel and they are planning' to serve 1,500 between 5:30 and 8 p.m. Friday evening, Grandview, Valley Val-ley View, Valley View Second and Wilford wards will serve the dinners din-ners for another 1,500 persons attending at-tending the affair during the same liours. The Relief Society is also in charge of the gift booth, with aprons, children's clothing, including includ-ing girls' dresses, baby dresses, pillow cases and other fancy work. Mrs. Katherine Sorensen, stake work director, is chairman of the booth and assigned each ward a project. Mrs. Grace Berndt, stake Relief Society president, and her counselors. counsel-ors. Veona H. Horman and Lois Gunderson, are in charge of the candy. Proceeds from the carnival FunDa will go to the welfare farm near Saratoga.
