Show Dixon to Play With Symphony On Saturday Frederic Dixon, famed Amer- ican pianist, will be guest soloist solo-ist with the Utah Symphony orchestra at the next to last concert of the 1950 season, Saturday Sat-urday night, March 11, at the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Requests from music fans all the way from Logan to St. George have requested Mr. Dixon, and fans from all parts of the state will be on hand to hear this special concert with the symphony. JDixon has played' in every state in the Union. He concer-tized concer-tized for 15 years making nine appearances at Town Hall and 15 in New York City. In 1937 he came to Utah to rest from a critical eye operation and liked the state so much he made it his home. He has become a great favorite with Utah music fans. His last three appearances appear-ances have all been sellouts. With the Utah Symphony, Mr. Dixon will play Ces a r Franck's Variations Sympho-niques Sympho-niques for Piano and Orchestra. Orches-tra. This work has never before be-fore been played in the Tabernacle. Taber-nacle. Conductor Maurice Abrava-nel, Abrava-nel, one of America's top conductors, con-ductors, has scheduled Brahms' Symphony No. 1 as another feature of this outstanding program. pro-gram.
