Show DOING THE TOWN ... By Elaine A. Cannon ' Keith and Mary Lou Gunn Bult left their three daughters with a baby tender in their cute new home on upper Logan Avenue Ave-nue and hied off to the cinema. We caught the musical Mary Lou beating time in the lobby to catchy background music. The Bults came equipped with a big sack of popcorn. Waved hello to the former Mary Milano and her husband, George. Haven't seen that attractive young matron since she was ja popular Tri Delta on the Ute campus just a few years back. J Time and being a mother has changed her little. She's as slim and smartly dressed as ever. i Mr. and Mrs. H. Fred Egan and the Lynn Richards are "con-ventioning" "con-ventioning" in Ontario, Canada. They will be back this week after a wonderful business-pleasure trip to scenic spots that our , friends on the north boast. It's a stiff climb but four lovers of the great-outdoors made it in almost record time. Dr. Bud Jackson and his wife, Mary Ellen and Dr. Steve Hatch and his wife, Marjorie, packed a lunch and took the trip to Timpanogos and they had nothing but raves for the gorgeous country thereabouts this time of year. BYU-Utah game tomorrow night will see Lyle Ward, Ted Cannon, Can-non, Aldon Anderson and Milt Weilenmann shouting for the home team together while the women folks prepare a spaghetti and meat ball supper at. home and exchange womanly talk till the men get back. Virginia Ward, Janath Cannon, Virginia Ander son and Marie Weilenmann plan to pull taffy for the after-the-game supper, too. Mrs. Alan Layton entertained a group of her friends at her borne this week. Mona tuckied the three kiddies snug in their cribs and prepared delicious dishes for the sewing club without even looking ruffled. Reports on the affair have been praiseworthy. praise-worthy. Marv Curtis escorted Maxine Christensen to several conference confer-ence reunions over the week end. Maxine wore a flattering kelly green suit with a smart black velvet beret for the fun evening. She is just back from her home in Honolulu, T. H., and is registered reg-istered for school at the U again this fall. Renee Young was her house guest during the summer vacation and the two girls returned re-turned to the mainland together. Renee is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Young. A happy birthday dinner party in honor of Mrs. Sylvester Q. Cannon was held at the home of her son-inVlaw1 and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne F. Richards on Logan Avenue the other evening. The Julian Cannons from over on South 15th East and the J. W. R, Robinson couple were among those present. At the Harold Goddard-Gloria Manwaring wedding reception Monday night many an old friend met old friend. It was good to see Walt Eliason, Glen Youngberg, Mrs. Vella Wetzel, the Munn Q. Cannons, Vaughn Orme, Mr. and Mrs. John Fetzer. The inimitable in-imitable Mrs. Wilby Durham wore a toast colored suit with fur collar and patch pockets plus a very fetching feather hat. She waited to greet the newlyweds with her brother-in-law, Dr. Homer Durham. Mr. and Mrs. Lester F. Hewlett Jr. were among the well-wishers. Highlight of the evening came when Hank serenaded ser-enaded his bride after his fraternity brothers and her sorority sisters sis-ters had sung their sweetheart songs. Joseph Jenkins, new principal of the Highland Park School was honored at a special meeting of the PTA Wednesday evening at 8. The affair was held at the school, with Mrs. Kenjieth E.' Lake in charge of arrangements. A talented group of seventh graders furnished a musical program. Saw Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Egan the other night all dressed up and going someplace . . . the blonde .Mrs. Egan was looking mighty lovely in a bright red wool coat-dress accented with a pert black pillbox and black accessories. , - |
