Show DOING THE TOWN . . . By Elaine A. Cannon We've seen you at the concerts . . . the dramatic productions pro-ductions ... the lectures and movies. We've heard about your trips . . . your house guests . . . your shopping sprees. In case your fun doubled up on you or you missed out altogether on i something special, here's the latest that we've gleaned in "doing "do-ing the town" for you Marie Madsen's tour of the country had to be cut short O . . . job's a-waiting. She flew in this week after a month's travel throughout the west coast, Mexican Gulf, the south, and east. Her traveling cmpanions were Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Kirkham and their daughter, Marie. The Madsen Miss left the Kirkhams in Boston to come home. They'll travel on through Canada before returning to their home on McClelland. Mrs. John Perry Egan has returned . from a quick trip to Denver where she visited with her son-in-law and daughter, Dick and Mary Lou Booth, Jack Gillespie and his boss, Ray Nikon, were moaning about being queried on the Kilroy gag that a local station is promoting. Anyway folks, neither of them is Kilroy! Eldon Romney dropped in the office the other day and it Was good to see him. Eldon and his wife Elaine have two youngsters and there little four-year old Ruthie, is a talented one. She writes the words to her own musical compositions. Eldon showed us the latest pictures of his cute li'l family. o 'Most everybody out this way knows the former Donna Miller and so will be mighty happy to learn that she is now a Mamma! Donna and her husband, Gene McDonough have a lovely little 7 lb. 9 oz. daughter as of Sunday. Maternal grandparents grand-parents are the Austin P. Millers, who came from Bakersfield, Cal., to see their new granddaughter. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy McDonough on South 15th East - Just ask Stan Darger who the smartest small fry in town is, and he's bound to tell you about his brand new son, Stanford Parley Darger Jr. The 8 lb. bundle of heaven was born Sunday to Stan and his wife, the former Arlene Barlow. Ar-lene, Ar-lene, incidently, is a very talented pianist. Quite a fancy doing, going on at the home of Dr. and M!rs. George Allen, up Allen Park Drive, out this-a-way. Daughter Daugh-ter of the household, Mary Rose, entertained Maj. Gen. Patrick Pat-rick J. Hurley at Sunday morning breakfast. Other distinguished guests included Maj. John Collings of Shanghai, the General's aide in China, and Griffith Sullivan, secretary to Gen. Hurley. Places were marked for ten guests. Dr. and Mrs. Gordon1 Holmes are in town for the next two weeks. Gordie and Jeanette have been making their home jn Palo Alto while Gordie takes his internship. Lots of parties in their honor. Among those partying with the Holmes duo will be the Vaughn Bennions, who are living out on Highland Drive now. Saw Mrs. Joseph B. Wirthlin, Mr. and Mis. Jack Fair-clough, Fair-clough, Mrs. A. Eugene Cbristcnscn and son, Lowell, Mr. and Mrs. Enimett Brown ... all southeasterners you know . . . took in the wondcrous performance of "Barrets of Wimpole Street." |
