Show Out East Mill Creek Way By Prances Neff and Mary Osguthorpe Provo canyon. Mr. Jack Bagley and son Larry are spending a few days with friends and relatives in EMC from their home in California. Cal-ifornia. From here they will travel to Grand Junction, pick up daughter Lynn, who has been vacationing with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turner, and then they will be homeward bound. WEDDINGS GALORE The last two weeks have been great days for weddings BACK TO SCHOOL School days, school days, dear old golden rule days and thousands of students back to their studies. And of course, as the pupils return to their books, so must teachers return to their desks. At Olympus Jr. high school we find four East Mill Creek residents resuming re-suming their duties: Elmo Pack, who Is principal, Sue Simons, Elizabeth Wheat andl Frances Xeff. At the Holla-day Holla-day elementary school we find that Frank! Bailey is getting back into the swing of being principal. Another principal is Earl Walker who heads the staff at Roosevelt, and teaching teach-ing under him are Martha Simons Si-mons and Marlene Ungrich Gerrard. The fourth principal princi-pal from out this way is Paul Worthen, who holds forth at Oakwood school. Other teachers teach-ers throughout the district are: Cassie Bailey at Sherman, Kenneth Ken-neth Allred and Leroi Groberg at Granite high, Betty Lou Cooney at Granite Jr., and Woodstock. The University of Utah had graduation exercises at the end of Summer quarter, on August 29th. At that time two EMC residents received their B. S. in' Elementary Education, Educa-tion, while Frank Walker received re-ceived a B. A. in the school of Arts and Sciences. Congratulations Congratu-lations graduates! VACATION TRIPS And even at this late date people are vacationing, for this week Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Woods are enjoying themselves at Bryce Canyon, while Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wheat spent the labor la-bor day holidays in Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Wilt. W. Bengfc zen spent a few days visiti'ig Mr. and Mrs. Keith Clark in Idaho Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Xeff spent several days enjoying themselves at in East Mill Creek. On August Aug-ust 26th Miss Margaret Cock-rell, Cock-rell, daughter of Mrs . Janie Cockrell, became the wife of A. Xeff (Boots). Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Y. Tay-lor. Tay-lor. The couple were married in the Salt Lake Temple and a reception was held in their honor at the Garden Park ward sisters were her attendants. Also on August 26th, a former for-mer East Mill Creek resident, now reesiding in Alaska, John E. Osguthorpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Osguthorpe, took as his bride Miss Doris Barbara Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Clark of Springdale, Connecticut. The ceremony took place in Juneau, Jun-eau, Alaska. The bride graduated gradu-ated from Daiibury Connect cut Teachers College. She recently re-cently received a second degree from the University of Alaska. John is a graduate of the U.S. A.C. at Logan. The couple will make their home at Fairbanks. On Friday, August 29th, Miss Beth Waller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Xewell B. Waller, became be-came the bride of Mr. Robert Epperson, in a ceremony performed per-formed by Bishop Leroy Erick-son Erick-son at the Alpha Delta Pi house. A reception followed. Beth chose as attendants her sister Elaine, Joyce Hampton, Jean Bagley, and another sister Janet Jan-et was junior bridesmaid. Jim Epperson served his brotheer as best man. The young couple are honeymooning at Jackson Hole, and will make their home in Salt Lake. Mel Ercckson is home from Arizona after spending two months helping Valoran Cap-son Cap-son redecorate hotels and motels. mo-tels. We understand that Phoenix Phoe-nix is a good place for people on diets. That Arizona sunshine sun-shine literally rolls the pounds off. After spending the month of August with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anderson, Miss Ei-lynn Anderson is once again at her base in Denver winging her way around the country a stewardess for United Air Lines. |
