Show CHURCH NEWS Bryan Ward . News for this week from Bryan ward began on Tuesday, January 22, with the Special Interst Class in Mutual enjoying a real treat when Vern Lunt, came and gave a travelogue with colored movies on Old Mexico. Thursday, January 24, a Ma and Pa Mettle movie will be shown in the ammusement hall, for all ward members. Coming news for Feb. 9th, the annual Gold and Green Ball honoring the first bishopric of Bryan ward this year Bishop Charles H. Sorensen and Mrs. Sorensen. Counselor and Mrs. Kenneth W. Burnett and Second Counselor and Mrs. Auburn Chipman. Also on the social calendar for Bryan Ward is the ball honoring hon-oring President Harry T. Oscar-son Oscar-son and Mrs. Oscarson, Mr. and Mrs. Keith C. Casper and O. Ernest Jorgensen. The guests are to be honored at a banquet in the early part of the evening. After the banquet the complete ward membership will participate partici-pate in the Gold and Green Ball. Little Mary Wallenhop, age four, who, was severly burned last week at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd O. Ivie, at 1045 East 17th South St., is slowly recovering, from the severe burns she re- ceived when a playmate unthinkingly unthink-ingly opened the furnace door and the flames shot out and burned'the Wallenhop child from the head down. The people of Bryan ward send their deepest hopes, and prayers daily for Mary's complete recovery. She was . four years old on Christmas Day and her Daddy is far away from home in the Armed Service of his country, overseas. Mary's mother died several years ago and her grandparents grand-parents are rearing all three Wallenhop children. Emerson Ward . Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. is "Meet Me At Mutual Night" for Emerson ward. Of interest to the Special Interest Class will be the third lecture in the series igiven by Ray Smith, the subject being the Book of Mormon. |
