Under the sponsorship of the state council of defense, during the war years, private county, state, and federal agencies agen-cies who manage VU-h lands, pooled their knowledge and fire fighting equipment to combat fires wherever they occured. The peopla of Utah have shown their appreciation of cooperative fire prevention and control work by going out wholeheartedly to reduce re-duce damage by fire to our natural na-tural resources. Private companies compa-nies and county and state departments de-partments who could help the program as they fulfilled their regular responsibilities gave great assistance to fire prevention preven-tion and fire control work. I We should keep such a successful suc-cessful program going in our state, said Mr. Floyd. Utah's land ownership pattern is an intermingling in-termingling of private, city, county, and federal lands, all of which are valuable to us as private pri-vate citizens. A successful fire prevention and fire control program pro-gram can only be carried on through the excellent cooperation cooper-ation of our citizens and our public departments. !
