Show Army Offers Inducements To Enlistees Honorably discharged veterans veter-ans who take care to protect the rights now provided by existing ex-isting legislation are in line to secure valuable reenlistment benefits, according to Lt. Col. Claries A. Watt, commander, Utah recruiting district. The recruiting station in Sugar Su-gar House is located in the lobby lob-by of the post office here Stat! ' Sgt. John E. Unland, a veteran of more than eight years in the service, is on duty to answer questions, give information, and sign up any interested persons. Sgt. Unland enlisted in Sait Lake first in 1926, and has served in the Philippines and in China as well as at various army posts in this country. Immediate promotion to enlisted en-listed grade held at time of discharge dis-charge is offered veterans dis-ch:.!ged dis-ch:.!ged under the point system sys-tem on or after May 2, 1943 if they enlist before Oct. 20. Veterans Vet-erans whose discharge did not come via the point system must complete their reenlistment within 20 days of discharge to set lire this promotion benefit. Monetary reenlistment allowance allow-ance is offered all veterans who complete their reenlistment within a period of 3 months from the date of discharge. This bonus is computed on the basis or the higher grade held at the time of discharge whether permanent per-manent or temporay. Men in the first three grades receive $50 per year, other $25 per year, for each year served in the last enlistment period. |
