Show BOWLING NEW The regular schedule of league bowling was supended last week in favor of the City tournament at the Southeast. The tournament tourna-ment play was completed Sunday night with Dave Chipman crowned crown-ed thel942 All-Events Champion with a score of 1916 pins. Hugo Ensign and Norm Shultz with 1225 retained the doubles crown they won last year, and Gordon Wood was sensation of the tournament tour-nament with his record breaking singles series of 693. The championship champ-ionship team was Vincent's Barber1 Bar-ber1 Shop, and Sugar Bowl and Holsum Bakers placed among the high teams. Other Southeast Bowlers with outstanding scores were: Bill Ward and Ray Cromar with 1204 in the doubles; in the singles, F. McGregof, 616. Les Stewart 610, and C. P. Anderson 609, in all-events, Joe Galafaro 1803, Marv Cleverly 1807; and Bill Ward 1803. The ladies Forest league rolled last week with the Palm team taking high series and game with 2073 and 740. Berdine Scott rolled roll-ed the high individual series of 453, and La Von Lobb had 18" for the high single game. Palm ' is one point ahead of Pine in league standing. The Sugar House Major league started this week with some hot bowling. Thor Tools piled up the scores, led by Bill Swan with a neat 628. They had a 2901 series and every man topped 200 for a 1081 total in their third game. Granite Mill won 4 points wita L. Rushton's 624 series and Fred Sandberg's 604. Stan Butts had a 602 for Sugar Bowl, and Dick McKean rolled 238 for high single sin-gle game for Al's Barbecue. |
