Show Fined Speeders Face Loss of Ration Books WASHINGTON. The Office of Defense De-fense Transportation disclosed that it would immediately begin checking the court records of persons fined for exceeding the 35-mile-an-hour speed limit with a view to further penalties. The ODT acted as the speed limit set for most vehicles October 1 became effective for common com-mon carriers buses and trucks. Joseph B. Eastman, director of the ODT, said court records of several sev-eral cases in Philadelphia in which motorists were fined for exceeding the 35-mile limit will be examined by an ODT representative. Under regulations of the Office of Price Administration the gas-ration book issued to drivers remains the property prop-erty of the OP A and may be withdrawn with-drawn by the agency upon representations repre-sentations from the ODT. m |
