Show Out East Mill Creek Way . . . By Frances Neff and Mary Osguthorpe Mrs. L. L. Bagley has been visiting with relatives and friends in Salt Lake during tht past week. Mrs. Bagley, a former for-mer resident of East Mill Ceek and now living in Los Angeles, came to Salt Lake last weekend with her son, Mr. Stuart Bagley. She is staying with another son, Mr. Louis N. Bagley. She will leave Saturday for Grand Junction, Junc-tion, Colorado, where she will spend some time with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Turner. The Cliambcrlin girls, Shirlej and Edith, were off debating again during their spring vaca tion at the University of Utah Shirlev. along with Belva Harlow, Har-low, left last Tuesday for Lafayette, La-fayette, Indiana, where they will seek national honors in the Tau Kappa Alpha Invitational debate at Purdue University. This is the first time in years that a women's team has represented the University of Utah in a national na-tional debate tournament. Edith, along with Ada Whitley and Dean Marshall, who are also East Mill Creek residents, went to Redlands University in California Cali-fornia to compete in an inter-mountain inter-mountain debate meet. Spending a weekend in Salt Lake, enjoying the lilting melodies melo-dies of Frankie Lane were Mr. and Mrs. Mel Erickson. They drove from their new home in Idaho Falls where Mel is employed em-ployed by Pacific Finance. Taking a business trip to Denver Den-ver was Louis Bagley. Leaving a week ago last Wednesday, he arrived back in Salt Lake Sun-1 day night via the airlines. Sporting a beautiful diamond ; ring, as of March 25, is Missj Betty Midgley, daughter of Mr. I and Mrs. T. C. Midgley of Og-! den. The boy friend is Richard j Ellsworth, son of Mr and Mrs. German S. Ellsworth, who are summer residents of East Mill; Creek. A June wedding is being anticipated by both Betty and ' Richard who are students of the BYU. Arriving from his home in Chicago just in time to enroll at the University of Utah for the spring quarter was Wayne Russell, Rus-sell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Yay Continued on Page 6 East Mill Creek . . . Continued from Page 5 Russell, former residents of East Mill Creek. Wayne is now making his home with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Russell. Wavne is a junior at the university where he is majoring in business. On March 23rd, Mr. T. J. Mkl"-ley celebrated his 81th birthday. A dinner in his honor was held at the family residence on 27th East. Family members present included Mr. and Mrs. George C. Midglev, Mr. and Mi's. T C MiriVley, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Abbot."
